Psychosocial Support Services for Girls in Orphanage

In the Kurdistan region, there are few orphan’s house. In Sulaimani governorate, there is only one orphan’s house for girls.  These orphanages are managed by Kurdistan regional government. As it is apparent, KRI has recently gone through a financial crisis and thus lacking a lot of resources and budgets to continue or renew the services in almost all the areas in need. Girls orphanage is the newly established center before 41 years and located in Sulaimani. It began services by providing basic needs services such as food, water, shelter, clothing etc. for orphans including other social services such as health and educational supports. The institution’s fund originated from the Kurdistan Regional Government.

Our projects is the first of its kind in the Kurdistan regional government. It will provide the foot steps to all orphanage centers in the KRG region to provide the best quality of services and help children learn skills to overcome life’s challenges.
